A theme is a combination of pictures, colors, and sounds on your computer. It includes a desktop background, a screen saver, a window border color, and a sound scheme. Some themes might also include desktop icons and mouse pointers.

Windows comes with several themes. You can choose an Aero theme to personalize your computer, the Windows 7 Basic theme if your computer is performing slowly, or a High Contrast theme to make the items on your screen easier to see. Click a theme to apply it to your desktop. We can change the themes and edit themes from window right click on Desktop>Personalize. You can also add more themes to Windows. You can download themes from Microsoft from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=109286. You can also transfer themes to other computers. For that open the themes folder C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes. Just copy this address in the address bar of the Windows Explorer and press enter. Every theme is in folders with name of the themes. In the folders of each themes desktop backgrounds are in the folder DesktopBackground. The pictures put in these folders will be the desktop backgrounds of the respective themes. If you want to transfer themes from one computer, open the themes folder>copy the folders of themes and to some media and paste these folders in the themes folder in your computer. You can apply these themes from the Personalization. For opening the themes folder make a shortcut of the folder.

You can also transfer themes to other systems as Theme Pack files(.themepack).In the Personalization right click on theme>Save theme for sharing. Then you can browse and save the theme as a Theme Pack file. Now what you have to do is to transfer the theme pack file to other PCs and double click. Now the theme will be Installed and Applied.
