Causes of file deletion:
1. Keyboard malfunction
Check the delete key on your keyboard. If it is jammed, the files could be deleted. Try cleaning the keyboard and pressing the delete key to bring it back up. If you think you can't do it on your own; especially if it is a laptop keyboard you might want to get it repaired at the shop.
2. Virus Infection
Computer viruses can do all sorts of things to your computer. Scan your computer with your antivirus. You have the updated version, right? Do a full scan, remove any infections that is found.
